PROMISING WIN FOR TANGMERE
FRANKEL three-year-old Tangmere took his first win Randwick today (7th February) after finishing powerfully in the final straight of a 1400m maiden.
Tangmere was the sale topper at the New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale in 2016 when he changed hands for $1.3 million. The Daily Telegraph have reported that he is now headed on the Gr.1 Australian Derby path and his win also brought up trainer Chris Waller's 100th Sydney winner of the season. Waller said: "It's a privilege to be training these types of horses.
"It was good to see him get the job done as he will certainly stay. Given his pedigree, anything is possible."
Tangmere is out of Zavabeel mare Our Echezeaux and is a half-brother to two Group winners and from the family of Champion Three-Year-Old in New Zealand, Darci Brahma.
