NEW STAKES WINNER FOR OASIS DREAM
Mrs Gallagher (OASIS DREAM) won the the feature race at Bath on Friday (20th April), The L. Lansdown Stakes, a five-furlong sprint for fillies and mares.
Taken From the European Bloodstock News, 21st April 2018:
The race saw the return to action of the rags to riches filly of two seasons ago, Mrs Danvers. She was making her first appearance since losing her unbeaten record in this race 12 months ago, but again finished in midfield as the William Jarvis trained three-year-old Mrs Gallagher made almost all.
The Ors Bloodstock and Stanley House Stud-bred daughter of OASIS DREAM was briefly headed by Yolo Star just before the furlong marker, but battled her way back to the front and just held on from the slowly-away, but fast-finishing favourite Mabs Cross. Mrs Gallagher won twice and was L. placed last season, but was unplaced in three outings in Pattern company. Her trainer William Jarvis said after yesterday’s race that earning blacktype had been the number one plan and that he would like to keep her in fillies’ races if possible.
The filly was a 140,000gns purchase by James Toller from the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1, being the first foal of a Listed-placed half-sister to the dual Gr.1 winner and young sireXtension (Xaar). Her page had received an update three weeks before the sale when the then two-year-old Harry’s Angel, out of another half-sister to her dam, had won the Gr.2Mill Reef Stakes, and he has since won the Gr.1 July Cup and Gr.1 Sprint Cup at Haydock.
