CROSSED BATON TAKES THE BLUE RIBAND
DANSILI's three-year-old son Crossed Baton continued his steady improvement to win the L. Blue Riband Stakes at Epsom today (25th April) by a head.
He was sent into the lead soon after the stalls opened and kept on relentlessly under pressure from Frankie Dettori. Trainer John Gosden said: "He did everything right. The plan was to take a lead but he jumped well and nobody wanted to lead. He got a little unbalanced late and changed his legs.
"It is great he has handled the track pretty well. He is already in the Derby and has beaten three or four other Derby entries.
"He has shown the benefit of his first run and his best ground would be good to firm. He is a big boy but with not big feet and flows over faster ground. That was a good start and if we got a hot summer he could be back."
